'Oasis' Transforms Images into Interactive 3D Worlds 🎮

A new AI model named Oasis has captured interest by creating a playable experience reminiscent of Minecraft, utilizing only images as input.

Details:

  • Created by Decart in partnership with Etched, Oasis is touted as "the world's first real-time AI world model."

  • Oasis generates gameplay using user input and visual data, processing keyboard and mouse commands to produce each frame in real-time at roughly 20 frames per second.

  • The system simulates physics, game mechanics, and graphics internally, delivering a dynamic gaming experience that adapts to player interactions.

  • Despite its impressive capabilities, Oasis has some shortcomings. The visuals resemble a low-resolution, glitchy version of Minecraft, with challenges in object permanence and fluctuating environments.

Meta has made a notable announcement by granting the US military and defense contractors access to its Llama AI model for national security applications.
