AI IN GAMING
'Oasis' Transforms Images into Interactive 3D Worlds ๐ฎ

A new AI model named Oasis has captured interest by creating a playable experience reminiscent of Minecraft, utilizing only images as input.
Details:
Created by Decart in partnership with Etched, Oasis is touted as "the world's first real-time AI world model."
Oasis generates gameplay using user input and visual data, processing keyboard and mouse commands to produce each frame in real-time at roughly 20 frames per second.
The system simulates physics, game mechanics, and graphics internally, delivering a dynamic gaming experience that adapts to player interactions.
Despite its impressive capabilities, Oasis has some shortcomings. The visuals resemble a low-resolution, glitchy version of Minecraft, with challenges in object permanence and fluctuating environments.
While still in its early stages, Oasis represents a significant leap forward in AI-powered game development. You can experience it firsthand by uploading your own source images for the AI to transform into playable game worlds through the "Custom Worlds" feature.
META
Meta Grants US Military Access to Llama AI Model

Meta has made a notable announcement by granting the US military and defense contractors access to its Llama AI model for national security applications.
Details:
Meta is collaborating with companies such as Amazon, Microsoft, and IBM to offer Llama to government organizations.
The AI model is designed for applications including "simplifying complex logistics and planning, monitoring terrorist financing, and bolstering cyber defenses."
Meta enforces restrictions on the use of Llama for direct military operations and espionage activities.
The company asserts that Oracle is already utilizing Llama to improve aircraft maintenance, while Lockheed Martin employs it for code generation and data analysis.
Other AI companies are also forming partnerships with the military; for instance, the US Africa Command is said to have acquired cloud services from Microsoft, allowing access to OpenAI's tools, while Google DeepMind holds a cloud computing contract with the Israeli government.
